Our client’s brief for this site included site planning for a swimming pool, a poolhouse, and extensive al fresco entertaining areas, as well as the entry garden and driveway. The property is located in an acreage estate north of Brisbane, and the challenge, as always in scenarios such as this, is how to best integrate the landscape formality of the immediate home environment with an open grassed landscape of a sizeable acreage outlook. There were other, more practical challenges as well – like configuring a driveway access to negotiate a 3m+ level difference from street to garage to formal pedestrian entry in a way that enhanced the desired subtlety of the entry experience without overpowering it.
