About This Project

When the Queensland Government State Archives Centre had finally outgrown their location in the city in the early 90’s, a site in native bushland at Runcorn was selected to house their new state of the art facility.

Our practice was selected to guide the site and landscape planning with 3 prime objectives:

1. Maximize retention of the endemic vegetation associations;

2. Reinforce existing native bushland with appropriate restoration and enhancement measures;

3. Create a formal entry experience suited to the contemporary style of the architecture that was proposed.
